I want to think about the unease that, for me accompanies this design when it becomes recognized as "design," and the ways in which, conversely, it engages me precisely when it is no longer engaging. While "" is said to be one of the most pleasing combinations of words, there is something persecutory about this little known term, "diamond plate." Yet there is something nice about it as an unspoken support, ultimately resisting satisfactory appellation.
